**WARNING, there are some spoilers in this review**

Before I read this, I didn’t really know what it was about. AGAIN, another cover buy for me, although the title also enticed me this time. ‘The Deathless Girls’ is a really intriguing title, and as it’s now autumn I wanted a darker read, to get me ready for HALLOWEEN month. Yes, Halloween is the whole month of October for me.

I digress, let’s get back to the book. So, this book starts in a travelling community. Where twin sisters live, Lil and Kizzy. They are waiting for their fates to be told, on their divining day. Both of which are excited to know what is in store for their futures. This I found really interesting, the traveller way of life and their customs. I really enjoyed how this book made you feel that travelling communities love nature and respect it wholeheartedly, their moto to tread lightly and leave plenty behind for others. So, getting back to Lil and Kizzy’s divining day, it doesn’t happen because they are abducted by evil men, with equally evil intentions. Luckily for them, they are both strong characters, in their own ways. Kizzy is fierce and brave on the outside, Lil’s bravery comes out when it is really needed. They fight tooth and nail to not become “warming blankets” for evil men, that show no respect for them and their travelling culture. Although captured, the sisters are still determined to find out what their fates are, and luck is on their side as there happens to be a seer in the midst’s. Also, are stories of the Dragon. Who he is, is revealed at the end of the book, this is where I realised this whole novel is based on the story of Dracul, and his beautiful damned brides, also known as The Deathless Girls.

For all you romantics out there. This book has a really sweet love interest plot. Lil and a storm eyed girl called Mira fall in love. It’s actually a really beautiful relationship and quite tragic at the end. I have to say, YES, I did cry a few tears, and no I am not ashamed to say it. It is a slow growing, but fierce love.

Overall, I loved this book and devoured it so quickly. I thought it was well written and will be eagerly anticipating Kiran Millwood Hargrove’s next book. I give this book four and a half stars, purely as I think the ending was rushed. I could have read on for a least another few chapters. However, I would definitely recommend this book.
