The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I have to say that I basically inhaled this book; Taylor Jenkins Reid is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine. I love the dynamics of her novels and that many, interlinks, even in the smallest of ways. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a story that you will relate to, compel you, drive you crazy and send you on an emotional rollercoaster. I think I fell in Love with Evelyn almost as soon as I started the book, I completely get the magmatism of her character.

I adore the way in which the book is set up, Evelyn a Hollywood icon, is at the later stages of her life and has decided to do a bare all novel for the world so that everyone will understand what motivated her and to reveal perhaps the biggest question of all: Who was Evelyn’s greatest love? The book has dual perspectives, Evelyn and Monique. Monique is an unknown reporter who Evelyn chooses to write her life story, for a specific reason, all is revealed at the end. This book felt totally real, and I commend Taylor for writing a realistic love story that isn’t picture-perfect, but raw, romantic and sometimes downright terrible.

I would recommend this book to anyone; this is coming from your average science fiction and fantasy nerd. I adored it and have now put Taylor in the automatically buy author pile.
